The people orchestrating the event were not the only ones who were proud of their work. One of the sushi models was happy to describe her experience as a living pedestal on the table.
“I like sushi,” she said. “When I found out about the event, I volunteered because I thought it would be cool to be a part of a sushi display.” It wasn’t easy, however. There was definitely work involved on her part. “It was freezing, and it was hard to stay still with all of the music playing, but I calmed myself down.”
Nyotaimori may not be the most traditional of practices, but it certainly is a fascinating art and will continue to draw curious crowds. Whether you feel like expanding your comfort zone or simply indulging in a delicacy, attending a body sushi event will be a memorable experience. Both Tsunami and Penthouse Club have expressed interest in showcasing their bare affair again in the future, so keep your eyes peeled and your chopsticks ready.
